Seasons is a new way for Bloodlines players to get rewards for completing challenges. Each season has a progress bar with various checkpoints along it. You fill the progress bar by completing challenges, and when your progress bar crosses a checkpoint, that checkpoint becomes unlocked. When you unlock a checkpoint, you can claim one of the rewards available at that checkpoint.
Challenges
All challenges for the same achievement progress simultaneously. For example, if there were two challenges for Abyss Flood, one to do it 5 times, and another to do it 10 times, completing it 5 times would check off the first challenge, and give you 5/10 progress on the second challenge. Each challenge can only be done once. Once a challenge is checked off, you get the points for that challenge, and it is then unavailable to do again for that season.
Rewards
If there are multiple reward sets for a single checkpoint, you get to pick one of them, and then pick one item from that reward set. Reward sets usually include multiple items. So, for example, a reward set might be 'Vials'. Inside that reward set will be one of each kind of vial, and you can pick the one you want.
Metric Cache vs. Metric Reserve Rewards
The Metric Cache reward adds metrics (Blood, Lumens, Cider, Ether, or Ichor) to a cache that is rewarded when you complete the season. Completing the season means getting the full number of points and filling the progress bar. As soon as you do that, all of the metrics in your Metric Cache are moved to your Metric Reserve, which can be accessed at any Bloodlines Refill Station. Metric Reserve rewards are immediately added to your reserve and can be accessed right away, even if you don't complete the season.
Tracking Your Progress
You can track your progress using The Seasons HUD, and through your profile on http://slbloodlines.com.
The Seasons HUD
The Seasons HUD is free to everyone. You can get one here or at any Bloodlines store. You can use the HUD to track your progress for the given season, and see when you have crossed various checkpoints. It also has convenient buttons that link you directly to the guide page, or to your personal season progress page. The Seasons HUD is also used to claim rewards. Once you see a checkpoint on your HUD that has been unlocked, you can touch it to select your reward.
Season Passes
Some checkpoints will be locked unless you obtain a Season Pass. A Season Pass can be purchased using Lindens at the Season Pass vendor in any Liquid Designs store in-world, or it can be earned by playing Seasons and earning Season Token rewards. Season Tokens are a Legends Resource that will appear in your backpack in your Legends HUD. They can then be exchanged at the Season Pass Token Vendor. For every Season you participate in, you'll get one of four season badges on your profile depending on whether you had the pass, and whether you completed the season. So having the pass gives you access to more rewards and gets you a better permanent badge on your profile. Or, if you don't want to buy a Season Pass, you can save up tokens earned in previous seasons to buy a season pass for a future season. There may also be other ways that you can earn Season Tokens by playing Legends, or win them as prizes.
